This iconic, ultra-modern, full-service hotel is surrounded by Broadway theaters and close to world-famous shopping and sightseeing. The hotel has 795 modern, newly renovated guestrooms. Overview The Food and Beverage Attendant plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest service while managing daily operations for the Market Place at the Hyatt Regency. This multifaceted position blends barista responsibilities, food handling, retail presentation, guest service and delivery logistics. The Food and Beverage Attendant is responsible for preparing beverages and reheated food, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and upholding product quality and safety standards. The attendant will also manage the timely delivery of food, beverages, amenities and merchandise to guest rooms and designated hotel areas, contributing to a seamless and satisfying guest experience Responsibilities Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. * Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. * Must be open and willing to work as a team and help colleagues when needed. * Should have the ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. * Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. * Must be open and willing to work as a team and help colleagues when needed. * Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings. * Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. * Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag. * Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. * Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions. * Have the ability to effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. * Have the ability to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives. * Have the ability to cross-train in other hotel related areas. * Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. * Have the ability to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs. * Perform other duties as requested by management. * Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times. Additional Requirements * Be knowledgeable about the structure and function of all food and beverage offerings at Cue 48, including the market place, bar, "knock and drop" service, and amenities delivery, as well as the duties associated with each position. * Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers and follow employees * Warmly greet and promptly assist guests with their food, beverage, and merchandise needs, ensuring attentive and courteous service. * Demonstrate expertise in menu content and current promotions; upsell featured items when appropriate * Ensure overall guest satisfaction through proactive service and attention to detail * Use and reference guest in-house list, group list, VIP list, and related materials daily. * Collect pastry delivery, verify item accuracy against the order document any discrepancies and sign delivery slip. * Arrange pastries attractively in the display case with the accurate descriptive signage, and store any remaining items in their designated holding area. * Brew coffee and prepare espresso drinks, cold brew coffee, teas, matcha, hot chocolate and specialty beverages according to in-house recipes * Monitor the cold brew tap keg and nitrogen levels daily; replace kegs and nitrogen tanks as needed. * Prepare, set and operate coffee market extension station when necessary in the lobby area. * Maintain a clean and well-organized coffee Fixing Station and guest-facing areas. Ensure milk servers, cream, sugar, stirrers and napkins are clearly labeled and consistently replenished throughout the shift * Reheat food using TurboChef ovens and sandwich presses * Ensure food and beverage are served hot, fresh and are attractively presented in the container and bags * Affix logo stickers neatly to designated takeout containers and bags to ensure consistent branding and presentation * Accurately receive and promptly deliver food and beverage orders with professionalism and care. * Set up and maintain the designated station for all in-house delivery and to-go orders. Ensure readiness and organization throughout service hours. * Perform "knock and drop" service and amenities delivery with care and efficiency, ensuring all required items- utensils, napkins, and condiments- are included and neatly presented * Efficiently manage the P.O.S. system for precise transactions including scanning. * Accurately receive and deliver food and beverage orders while collecting payment. * Securely process all forms of payment: cash, cards, and house charges. * Count bank and ensure accuracy in accordance with SOP. * Perform cashiering functions: close checks and complete end of shift paperwork including tip reports * Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties as per station rotation and checklist * Thoroughly wipe down all shelves in the market place and display fridges, along with all surfaces, counters, and tables in both the Market Place and bar area to maintain a spotless and inviting environment * Restock shelves, coolers and displays throughout the shift including paperware and plasticware items * Conduct a daily inventory based on the par and submit completed requisition forms prior to collecting items from Receiving (no items will be issued without proper requisition form) * Maintain proper par levels to meet demand and reduce waste * Monitor expiration dates and rotate stock for freshness * Keep supplies fully stocked and systematically arranged to promote smooth workflow and cleanliness * Ensure product presentation is organized and appealing with all the products lined up and the labels facing out * Handle full set up and breakdown of the Market area daily * Bus all tables, collecting and disposing of soiled food containers, utensils and plasticware in accordance with hygiene standards. * Clear and sanitize tables promptly after guest departure. Sweep/vacuum the floor/carpet and remove all the debris throughout your shift * Scan and operate P.O.S system for accurate transactions. Handle cash, card payments and all house charges securely * Perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork including tip report. * Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation assignment and established checklist. * Ensure all furniture and stanchions are consistently positioned as illustrated in the diagram. * Breakdown bins of soiled dishes in the dishroom according to established standards. * Perform cleaning duties: sweep, wipe surface, sanitize equipment * Be familiar with fire extinguishers, locations and know how to use them. * Ensure Light and Music are set according to the standards. * Ensure that all pantries and Market Place area are left clean and fully restock for the next shift * Ensure all storage cabinets are locked and secured Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. * Familiarity with TurboChef ovens and food safety practices * Strong multitasking and time management skills * Excellent communication and guest service abilities * It would be beneficial but not required to have a SERV Safe certified or hold a valid New York Food Handler's License Abilities Needed: * Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. * Ability to stand and walk during entire shift. * Must be able to maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food & beverages, heavy waste bags | |||||||||||||
