Overview

The Food & Beverage Coordinator is responsible for clerical, administrative, and other duties to assist in the smooth operation of the Food & Beverage department including but not limited to payroll, schedule adjustments, special projects, and general F&B Office & Administrative efficiency. Additionally, the F&B Coordinator position will lead, funnel, and coordinate all Venue-related Sales' inquires including but not limited to buyouts, partial buyouts, special events, general reservations and amenities. He/she is also responsible for providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests.

  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Greet and welcome all guests in accordance with Highgate Hotel standards.
  • Answer guest inquires about hotel and Venue hours of operation in a timely manner.
  • Assist with Daily Payroll inputting & adjustments
  • Assist with schedule coverage and attendance adjustments as needed.
  • Assist with any special project needs as directed by F&B Management Team.
  • Act as the Main conduit to all sales leads for any of the F&B venues. This will include accurately and graciously answering all questions, dispersing collateral & sales information, following-up, client site walk-throughs, accurate intake, and ultimately generating and maintaining updated Venue Event Orders (VEO). This will then be appropriately distributed to the Department managers and/or coordinators with revisions being distributed as soon as changes are made
  • Act as the main conduit for all Amenities by coordinating the entire amenity process including clear communication with client, distributing Amenity orders to the respective hotel departments and ensuring payment is secured.
  • Keep constant and clearly communication internally within the Food & Beverage Department including Front of House Operation Managers, Culinary Team, the Stewarding Team and the Banquet Team.
  • Answer telephone and email messages. Respond accordingly.
  • Maintain and stay up to date with the latest computer programs/innovations (as applicable).
  • Open and distribute mail.
  • Filing of all pertinent correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Type all correspondence pertaining to department.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of office supplies.
  • Responsible for the smooth operation of the office.
  • Type and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Maintain trace file as needed.


Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • College course work in related field helpful.
  • Computer knowledge/skills required but not limited to Microsoft Office and with proficiency and/or experience with POS systems, and PO ordering systems is preferred.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Salary is $22-$23/hourly
