Summary:

Under the direction of department Manager, supervises all on-site admissions, registration, pre-cert, insurance verification, financial counseling, cashiering, and quality performance competencies of Patient Access staff to ensure optimal financial viability and customer relations.

Is compliant with regulatory guidelines.

Acts as first contact representative of Virtua by providing excellent customer service.

Position Responsibilities:

* Supervises staff in Patient Access while ensuring all human resources and department policies are consistently reinforced and equitably followed.

* Maintains effective and productive work schedules.

* Ensures performance standards are achieved including registration accuracy, cash collection, administrative denials, and pre-reg volumes.

* Sets and achieves the highest in customer satisfaction standards.

* Understands government regulatory directives and maintains compliance within all regulatory guidelines.

* Maintains budget within departmental guidelines.

* Completes departmental reports within designated timeframes and ensures back-up coverage is appropriately trained and has full understanding of reports, how to work them and designated timeframes.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

Requires three (3) years admitting or registration experience required.

Must exercise good leadership, team building and utilization of supervisory skills.

Required Education:

High school graduate.

Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area is strongly preferred but appropriate experience may be substituted.

One year of Epic system experience highly preferred.
