We are Systems, LLCa leading manufacturer and designer of loading dock equipment. Wecontinue to GROW and are seeking a motivated team player to join our organization.

Job Summary:

As the hands-on EHS Manager, you will develop, implement, and coordinate the plant environmental, safety, and health programs in accordance with legal, corporate and facility directives to prevent incidents, mitigate risk, ensure an ongoing safety culture, and compliance with all related federal, state, and local regulations. You will collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify potential safety concerns and trends and create systemic strategies to mitigate risk and develop and reinforce safety culture of excellence. You will develop, implement, and deliver EHS training and education for team members, including new employee safety orientation.

You will communicate effectively with a diverse set of internal customers and implement communication strategies that reinforce a high level of EHS awareness throughout the organization. This function supports approximately 130 manufacturing employees and has one direct report.

This position is located at our Malvern AR facility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety, or related program of study.

  • 7+ years of related experience in an EHS position within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a welding shop or metal fabrication operation

  • Preferred: Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

  • Ability to travel up to 4 times a year

Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to job duties (OSHA, EPA)

  • Strong hazard recognition skills and job hazard analysis experience.

  • Knowledge of safe operation of overhead crane and hoist systems

  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis

  • Experience with behavioral based systems

  • Project management and change management

  • Emergency Response Planning

  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Management

  • Strong verbal and written communications

  • Strong presentation skills for effective training material development and delivery.

  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills - ability to work within cross functional teams and build rapport within all levels, support/lead initiatives across the organization

  • Analytical, organizational, and documentation skills and strong problem solving and business analysis skills

  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks and adapt to changing priorities

  • Highly developed computer skills; fluent with productivity application skills - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams), SharePoint, VelocityEHS, ENHESA, etc.

  • Valid driver's license with good record

Responsibilities & Additional Job Details:

  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with applicable regulations

  • Lead a cross-functional safety committee, engaging and inspiring team members by communicating the team vision, mentoring others, and providing technical support

  • Participate in detailed incident investigation teams to determine root causes and corrective and preventive actions

  • Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies

  • Responsible for OSHA logs and environmental reporting for federal and state compliance

  • Schedule, conduct, monitor monthly EHS inspections and closure of action items

  • Lead and manage risk assessment process to include Job Hazard Analysis, Ergo Job Hazard Analysis, and other safety assessments with the determination of effective controls and risk mitigation

  • Interface with federal, state, and local environmental and safety agencies on plant issues

  • Interpreting laws and regulations to determine applicability for facilities of responsibility and implementing programs to comply

  • Implement a communication strategy across your plant that reinforces a high level of EHS awareness and ownership at all levels of the plant
