Intralox LLC, a division of Laitram LLC, has a position available for a Test Engineer who will work in our New Orleans office in our Engineering Support Group to support the new product development department in the creation of innovative, high-value solutions for challenging real-world problems. This test engineer will be responsible for test plans, executing test plans, and providing documented data to the engineering team to validate that our products can be properly utilized in our customer's plants for years to come.

Responsibilities:
- Accelerate transfer of project knowledge to development teams, expediting product delivery to market minimizing the total cost of delay.
- Test Engineer is responsible for testing needs of the test teams thru the project development: Planning -> Development -> Execution
- Work directly with industry teams to develop testing strategy and results delivery for their projects.
- Define or validate test scope by identifying the information and results required to make design decisions and/or evaluate product, component, or material performance.
- Prioritize the integration of custom test methods into operation workflows.
- Execute or oversee tests ensuring they follow the test plan, utilize appropriate test methods, tools, and equipment, and are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Apply continuous improvement principles to new product development testing operations.
- Improve learnings from test development efforts into test standardization.
- Contribute to the curation of our growing data stores.
- Create methods that transform test results into actionable insights using clear and well-defined analysis techniques.
- Focus on revealing product performance capabilities or distinguishing differences between products, ensuring the analysis techniques are tailored to achieve these objectives.
- Identify and implement best practices to improve the testing process, test tools, and testing methodologies to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain workshop and test areas to ensure they are clean and organized.
- Provide training to technicians and engineers on the operation of test equipment.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitudes.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective technical writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and operate equipment user interface software.
- Familiarity with ASTM or ISO test standardization related to plastic material strength, stiffness, and tribology.
- Must be comfortable operating mechanical equipment to evaluate performance of machinery.
- Self-managed, team player able to complete assigned priorities without supervision.
- Specific experience on laboratory test equipment ( UTM | FTIR | DSC ) preferred
- Programming/analysis experience in data exploration and visualization. (Python | VBA | Excel | Minitab) preferred
- Project Management tools: (Kanban | Sprint Planning | Microsoft Project) preferred
