Patient Accounts Representative (Hybrid) 101 Truman Medical Center Job LocationTruman Support Center Kansas City, MissouriDepartment Position Type Work Schedule Hours Per Week Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Patient Accounts Representitive II to join our team! If you are passionate about accuracy, problem-solving, and customer service in a healthcare setting, we want to hear from you. You'll be responsible for managing billing and collections, ensuring accurate account resolution, and working with insurance payors and patients. What You'll Do: Billing & Collections: Manage daily billing for insurance claims and collections for outstanding payor accounts and self-pay encounters. Account Monitoring & Reconciliation: Reconcile assigned accounts using proper workflows and ensure accurate account resolution. Knowledge of Programs: Stay updated on third-party carriers, government payors, special programs, and the University Health Financial Assistance program. Compliance & Regulations: Meet regulatory compliance standards, federal regulations, and department protocols to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards. Electronic Systems & Customer Service: Use various electronic systems to track and manage accounts while providing excellent customer service. Problem Solving: Use critical thinking to resolve billing issues independently and efficiently. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least two years of experience in a professional or insurance billing environment. Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement. Working knowledge of reimbursement comment codes and payer provider manuals. Computer literacy and ability to use Excel, Word, Outlook, and a 10-key calculator. Extensive knowledge of third-party billing procedures with the ability to act as a subject matter expert in this area.
