Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Research Scientist.
This position provides pivotal leadership and management to diverse constantly evolving grant funded translational behavioral medicine research initiatives and related projects within the Center for Healthful Behavior Change in the NYU Langone Healths Institute for Excellence in Health Equity These projects include evaluating the effectiveness of health information technology and mobile health mHealth applications for chronic disease management application of implementation science frameworks to Federally Qualified Health Care settings study of patient physician communication in vulnerable populations and elucidating the psychosocial factors of behavior change among others The position reports to and is guided by a highly respected experienced faculty member whose expected program outcomes are best facilitated by an individual with highly effective interpersonal and communication skills strong leadership and personnel management skills exceptional organizational skills and experience with patient oriented research The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with numerous other professionals across a variety of disciplines including general medicine community medicine epidemiology cardiology oncology and biostatistics Points of intervention include individual and group work with patients and families as well as direct collaboration with providers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops new ideas that promote current research Exercises a high degree of creativity foresight and mature judgment in planning organizing and guiding extensive scientific research programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of research projects nbsp;
- Responsible for research/lab quality control and compliance Develop protocol for the collection and quality of research data Develops research techniques and methodologies
- Make significant contributions to scientific papers Is a resource/ author/ co author for reports and presentations
- May serve on internal committees to help further goals of research projects and bring new expertise to the research program
- Ensure quality assurance Understand each projects specific aims program plan timeline reporting requirements budget allocations key personnel and partners
- Coordinate the development of projects training and intervention material Participate in and contribute to the development implementation and management of new programs and/or program components including relevant grant submissions
- Monitor and evaluate programs/projects using mixed methods approaches and makes recommendations for improvement
- Coordinate the planning development and submission of grant applications With the lead faculty author develop first drafts of manuscripts abstracts and professional presentations
- Manage the planning conduct and follow up activities for research projects Attends collaborative meetings and team meetings
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Evidence of highly effective project management; strong organizational and time management skills; demonstrates effective interpersonal and communications skills and attention to detail; comfortable in the role of team leader and team member
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a MS degree with at least 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree preferably in public health health education psychology population health or medicine

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $77,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
