The Salvation Army Springfield Campbell Store located in Springfield, Missouri, is looking for a Thrift Store Assistant Manager. This Individual will assist the store manager with thrift store operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. This position is expected to perform all functions of a thrift store worker. This includes but is not limited to working with customers; lifting and carrying donated/purchased items; clothes sorting/bailing operations; stocking, pricing, and placing items for sale; making change for purchased items; etc.

This is a full-time position 40 hours per week, with the starting pay of $15.00 per hour.

  1. Assist in scheduling store workers to ensure coverage in store at all times scheduled to be open.
  2. Assist in supervising employees and volunteers in performance of duties to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
  3. Assist in providing training of new personnel.
  4. Bank cash receipts at end of business day. Safeguard cash at all times.
  5. Attend meetings as required and keep personnel informed of new policies and directives.
  6. Maintain good customer relations, as is expected by all staff and volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a team player, a self-started, and perform well with minimum supervision. Position requires basic communications with customers and other employees. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Appropriate valid driver's license and pass TSA MVR check is required. High school graduate or equivalent, experience in retail sales preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees. Ability to apply some common sense in carrying out instructions furnished in written, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divided in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
