We are pleased to present the following position for your consideration:

Overview: Safety Specialist

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is expanding it's safety team, and looking for an individual with prior experience in a security or safety role. This position are responsible for providing safety and security at our Decatur facilities. At this time, the position we have available is 7pm-5am, 4 days each week.

Core Responsibilities Include:

1. Completion of rounds to secure interior spaces of buildings;
2. Monitoring of sensitive areas during times of high volume traffic;
3. Enforcement of smoking areas on the exterior of the building;
4. Assistance to emergency personnel as needed;
5. First responder to internal emergency codes;
6. Continuous monitoring of all floors for safety or security concerns;
7. Proper communication and collaboration amongst fellow safety team members and Heritage staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to work 35-40 hours each week, which may include afternoons, nights, and weekends.
2. The ability to be firm, yet compassionate, is essential in this work environment.
3. Additional experience working with the mentally ill or substance using populations, using trauma informed methodologies, is highly recommended.

Education and Experience:

1. A high school diploma/equivalency documentation is required.
2. Applicants with prior security and/or safety experience are preferred.
3. A valid drivers' license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of automobile insurance is required of all Heritage staff.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour ($37,440 - $49,920 per year) dependent on education and experience
