Your Responsibilities:

  • There is a need within the supply chain organization to improve the support during tender and execution. We are looking for someone that can analyze problems and identify solutions on how to better support the tendering phase of business process. We also have a need to lean out some of the SCM processes. A different vantage point could help us improve and become more efficient.
  • Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
  • The graduate will learn about the overall business process within the North American organization. With the unique challenges in the supply chain function today it will be a very interesting opportunity to help drive change and improvement during some very challenging times with Ukraine/Russia, lead time challenges, and more.
  • Learning will be around how to approach and solve problems from a Quality mindset. If they are interested in belt training in LSS we can arrange this depending on timing. The SCM function touches all parts of the business process so the candidate will interface with many parts of the business including PM, Finance, Engineering, Services, SCM, Subcontracts, Logistics, etc. This will give them much visibility and experience with many parts of the EPC business.
  • Current projects are creating a more intelligent list in Sharepoint that has all of our vendor information. We need someone who has knowledge of Power BI and can create a dashboard that is more useful for the team. We do not utilize Power BI as much as I think we can so knowledge in these areas would be beneficial.
  • Supplier Quality - we need a leaner way to track OTD data from our suppliers, our SQE has a process but it is still very manual how can we improve in this area?
  • Data analysis tender - need more granular data on why we have lost recent projects, this is part of the tender phase however SCM touches this process, if there is anything from a RCA perspective that SCM can support we need this data
  • Supplier Qualifications - our current process for registration and qualification in SAP Ariba is not lean and we get many complaints from our suppliers, identify some areas how we can lean the process out and improve compliance
  • REIWA - we are currently implementing a new ERP, lots of opportunity to support this initiative as well
  • What are the main objectives of the assignment?To support the strategic vision and transformation of the supply chain organization in the grid automaton business by improving upon and creating business processes to ensure success. Working with and improving our tools will also be a focus.
  • Implementing REIWA across the organization
  • Supporting the Category Management team's strategic initiatives (Panel Supplier focus is a good example)

  • Gaining knowledge around the green energy field through supporting the development and growth of our grid edge solutions business
  • Knowledge around product and project-based businesses which is unique to a few of the groups in Hitachi
  • Ability to support a paradigm shift in the organization in regard to procurement and logistics, we are in growth mode and have the ability to mold the team and build something amazing

Your Background:

  • A bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a relevant field, such as supply chain management, business administration, psychology, engineering, or similar
  • A strong interest and passion for SCM and process improvement
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • A high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
  • A willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative
  • A proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerBi, SAP, or similar tools is a plus
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
