Job Description

Automation, system, and database management.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to extract and manipulate data from various systems.
  • Develop, implement and maintain databases and systems for capacity modeling, operational metrics reporting, and for supporting cost improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data reporting systems and processes.

Performance Reporting & Productivity Improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancement.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure business objectives are being achieved, or identify the reason why they are not.
  • Provide input into capacity metrics, utilization, availability, and cycle time expectations.
  • Identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
  • Actively communicate and work with others to improve performance through bottleneck analysis, hands on observations on the manufacturing floor, dispatching methodologies, and team-work.
  • Initiate projects to ensure cycle time and capacity requirements are achieved through completion of identified action plans, such as tool install and process qualifications.
  • Provide input to, and take guidance from, HQ for loading support, capacity planning, and performance measurement.

Capacity Planning

  • Conduct time studies, process flow analysis, and collect/analyze data related to capacity planning.
  • Work with others (Production, Engineering, and Equipment) to ensure the capacities are accurately comprehended through thorough investigation and application of traditional planning models and tools.
  • Perform capacity modeling, taking ownership of in-house developed models if necessary.

  • You can maintain inputs to capacity model - units per hours, availability and efficiency.
  • You are able to perform and assist in maintenance of capacity model.
  • You can perform cycle time modeling requiring a clear understanding of the facility loading and performance.
  • You can provide input into capacity metrics, utilization, availability and accurate loading.
  • You are able to balance the line through dispatching and bottleneck analysis.
  • You can perform impartial performance measurement.
  • You can identify and initiate projects to ensure the cycle time and capacity requirements are achieved through completion of identified action plans, such as tool install and process re-qualifications.
Job Requirements
  • B.S Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Science degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 4 years' experience in manufacturing and operations management techniques.
  • Strong quantitative and advanced analytical skills and project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of statistics, data analysis and problem solving methodologies
  • Strong programming skills with experience in data extraction and manipulation.
  • Expert use of Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Power Point, Word).
  • Proficiency in tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages
  • VBA and SQL is required.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Science (scheduling/dispatching, TOC, Lean, Push/Pull system, inventory management, capacity planning, etc.)
  • Experience in optimization, tool modeling and performance metrics preferred.
  • Previous experience in Semiconductor environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PROMIS is preferred.
