Creighton Manning, a GAI Consultants, Inc. company, is seeking a Junior Engineer (0-2 years of experience) to complement our existing Engineering staff in our Site/Civil, Traffic, Transit, Highway, Structures and Construction Inspection Groups. The successful Junior Engineer candidate will be based out of our Albany, NY office.

About This Position:

Responsibilities may include, depending on your field of expertise:



  • Field work
  • Traffic engineering and analysis of roadways and signals
  • Structural analysis and design of bridges
  • Design and layout of project components in 2d and 3d
  • Preparing construction drawings and documents
  • Field observation for adherence to construction plans and specifications
  • Report writing and cost estimating


Essential Job Duties:



  • Primary data collector in the field.
  • Perform specific portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Perform standard computations or basic engineering analysis.
  • Maintain equipment inventory.
  • Attend project meetings with senior staff.
  • Responsible for basic QA/QC tasks; review of own work, as well as reviewing the work of Junior Engineers and Technicians.
  • Provide limited supervision to technicians.
  • Coordination with municipalities/agencies regarding background volumes, accident data, signal timings, etc.
  • Develop and analyze trip generation and volume.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Proficiency with either AutoCAD or Microstation, Inroads, AutoTurn, Synchro, Vissim and GIS software a plus, but not required.
