Job Description

Assistant Teaching Professor

The School of Pharmacy seeks a highly motivated individual for an assistant teaching professorship in the Division of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This position is a12-month full-time, ranked, non-tenure-track position located on the UMKC Hospital Hill campus in the vibrant Health Sciences District at the center of Kansas City, MO.

Candidates would be expected to train PharmD students in their basic sciences course work, particularly in pharmacology. The School of Pharmacy has sites in Springfield and Columbia, MO and our Kansas City home. We expect that the successful applicant will be able to assist with training and mentoring of students in our PhD and certificate programs, as well.

The successful candidate will have a track record of accomplishment in teaching and scholarship that complements the existing strengths of the Division. We seek candidates focused on scholarship in health problems that affect Missourians, including infectious diseases, cancers, and neurodegenerative diseases. Our program has a track record of fostering faculty with innovative, translational research that will make a difference in patients' lives.

We are dedicated to the career development of our faculty members. The successful applicant will receive extensive mentoring, have opportunities to acquire new research skills, and will be provided support to pursue grant applications. Qualifications

* PhD, MD/DO, DVM and/or PharmD with teaching experience in a relevant field.

* 2+ years of postdoctoral training or equivalent experience

* Strong background of primary research publications in high-impact scientific journals

* Possess a genuine passion for research and teaching

Experience and/or training in teaching and mentorship in higher education is valued
