Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Quality Specialist to provide full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels and vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft and vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels and vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's Combatant Craft Division.

JOB SUMMARY
The Mid-Level Quality Specialist will support all contracted work by ensuring compliance with an established and documented Quality Program Plan. The Quality Specialist will conduct thorough reviews of technical design packages and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards. This role requires utilizing approved processes for reviewing and approving technical documentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience: Five (5) years of full-time professional experience as a Quality Control Specialist supporting mechanical and electrical systems, particularly in a maritime environment

  • Education: High school diploma, related military experience, trade/industrial school graduate, or GED equivalent (required)

  • Skills:

    • The ability to solve technical problems

    • Practical understanding of engineering concepts to ensure products and processes meet quality and safety standards

    • Ability to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the quality review of design and test articles

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under project deadlines

  • Clearance: Must possess a current Secret Clearance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Training in the skills and techniques related to engineering quality control

  • Ability to operate and test equipment to ensure processes operate effectively and safely

  • Experience supporting quality control plans in a dynamic environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Program Plan for all work performed under contract

  • Review technical design packages to ensure quality standards are met

  • Document and report review results for each design, following the approved Technical Documentation Review and Approval Processes

  • Provide guidance on quality control measures and support continuous improvements to enhance product quality

  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve quality-related issues
