Immediate Opening: Diesel Mechanic at LeMay Pierce County Refuse

We have an immediate opening for a Diesel Mechanicto join our team working on our fleet of garbage trucks at LeMay Pierce County Refuse in Frederickson, WA, a Waste Connections Company. We encourage you to apply if you're looking for secure and steady employment!

Pay and Schedule:

• Hourly pay: $35.00 - $36.00plus a $1.50/hr shift differential

• Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11 PM

• $5,000 Stay-On Bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance services.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.

• Use vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.

• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment. (Welding experience is a plus.)

• Complete necessary paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.

• Review and address repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.

• Perform additional maintenance-related work as needed.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area, following corporate and OSHA standards.

• Adhere to established safety procedures in all tasks.

• Effectively communicate repair needs and tasks.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• At least one year of experiencein heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of an accredited vocational-technical school program (preferred).

• CDL preferred(ideally obtained within the first 90 days of employment).

• Personal tools are required.

• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.

• Ability to read and understand service and technical information.
