Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Learn to Fabricate and/or repair precision carbide and
steel tooling (dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, etc.) for the manufacture of
aircraft quality fasteners, utilizing automatic and manual machines, and/or
cutting apparatuses, and precision measuring devices.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches,
models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines required to
fabricate part.

Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly
method and sequence of operations.

Measures, makes, and scribes metal stock for machining.

Learn to set up and operate equipment such as lathe,
milling machine, and grinder to machine parts, and verifies conformance of
machined parts to specifications.

Learn to heat treat tools and/or parts.

Learn to examine standard to previously used dies, tools,
jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modification regarding construction
and function of part.

Meets and maintains productivity levels and quality
requirements in support of departmental standards, goals and schedules.

Performs record keeping, housekeeping, and follows safety
regulations.

The pay scale for this position ranges from $20.14-$37.50 an hour.

Qualifications

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all
units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and
percent. Ability to apply basic concepts
of algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a
variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists. Ability to interpret a variety
of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree
(GED). A minimum of 4 years experience
in fabricating aircraft quality fastener tooling; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.

Physical
Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is
occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move
up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work
Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
