Summary

The Vendor Relations Consultant serves as the Supply Chain contact for vendor-related services and acts as interface with internal business units to understand vendor services, needs and challenges.

Ensures vendor services meet expectations and drive the implementation of the sourcing strategy.

Serves as Supply Chain representative and partners with internal business units for contract and vendor engagement activities.

Leads the resolution of complex, inter-related issues that require buy in across multiple stakeholders, finding suitable resolution quickly within contractual boundaries.

Minimum Requirements

A four-year Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus five (5) years' experience managing vendor and supplier relationships in the area of procurement and outsourcing agreements related to maintenance, services, or similar experience.

In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience managing vendor and supplier relationships in the area of procurement and outsourcing agreements related to maintenance, services or similar experience equaling nine (9) years.

Experience working with and negotiating with suppliers and strategic vendor initiatives.

Experience building relationships with key suppliers and liaising between vendor and internal organizations to resolve conflicts.

Experience tracking and negotiating contract requirements.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with vendor relationship management as a discipline.

Ability to maintain composure in critical negotiations, communicating effectively with both internal and external clients.

Experience performing advanced business and financial analysis of vendor engagements.

Experience building strong relationships with key vendors.

Ability to solve complex problems; and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of overall vendor relationships across the organization.

Ability to lead using informal authority and personal influence to drive organizational objectives.

Major Accountabilities

1) Develops, implements and manages vendor management processes aligned with Supply Chain best practices.

2) Establishes and maintains strong partnerships with business units and vendors, participating in contract development and evaluations to identify potential issues and risks.

3) Partners with key stakeholders to ensure contract delivery is in line with regulatory, contractual, and service level requirements.

4) Maintains the strategic relationship with key vendors.

5) Serves as primary escalation point for business units with ongoing or significant issues.

6) Holds vendors accountable to providing continuous improvement opportunities that meet the needs of the station.

7) Defines and seeks opportunities for improvements and cost savings through better utilization and engagement of vendor resources especially major suppliers (craft labor supplier, technical supplier, etc.)

Hybrid Role:

This position combines working in the office and at home, based on the needs of the business. The schedule will be determined with the hired employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's.

Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours. Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
