Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer in Sealed Air helps us execute projects across the globe by always driving our customer's success by upgrading our manufacturing capabilities, providing creative solutions with your outstanding engineering skills, leading with your strong project management and electrical design skills, building the best working environment, and partnering with diverse and multicultural teams to keep us as the best in the packaging industry. * To use your Electrical Engineering degree with 8+ years of electrical design, project engineering and strong technical skills to solve complex engineering challenges from solution development to start up.
* To use your communication skills for effective project execution and leading the project's full life cycle management. This includes generating estimates, planning, establishing Bill of Materials, supporting the procurement process, managing stakeholders, meeting milestones, and closing the project.
* To use your technical prowess, willingness to learn and innate curiosity to engineer advanced control systems for our production lines. In this role, you'll design, program, and refine control systems (PLCs, HMI's, SCADA, and industrial networks), configure motor control systems, variable frequency drives, and design electrical distribution systems. Your contributions will not only align with our goals but also echo our commitment to leaving the world better than we found it.
* To elevate our manufacturing processes by designing innovative software tools to enhance plant floor transparency, streamline operations, and boost efficiency. You'll implement systems to monitor machine parameters, analyze data, and apply exploratory logic to decode complex equipment behaviors, paving the way to predict and preempt equipment failures.
* To play a pivotal role in advancing our proprietary technology by improving equipment reliability, from troubleshooting to designing upgrades for manufacturing equipment and control systems. In our collaborative lab environment, you'll bring prototypes to life, driving innovation from concept to reality. Alongside various project teams, you'll oversee the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup of such technology including control systems and auxiliary equipment. Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university, with 8+ years of relevant experience.
* Experience in creating panel layout drawings in 2D/3D CAD (DraftSight/SolidWorks Electrical) and electrical schematic drawings.
* Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of VFDs (preferably PowerFlex) and designing electrical power distribution systems (480V 3-phase, 110VAC, 24VDC).
* Ability to make appropriate selections for sensors, actuators, IO, etc. and experienced in automation/industrial control system design including PLCs (preferably Rockwell Automation and/or Siemens), HMIs, Ignition, and industrial networks (Ethernet IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, etc).
* Ability to understand mechanical systems for designing and adjusting controls logic.
* Familiarity with industrial data capture systems, process data historians, and visualization applications is a plus.
* Knowledgeable in NEC, NFPA70E, CE, UL, and industrial electrical codes and safety standards.
* Experienced in managing electrical installation contractors, commissioning new equipment.
* Background in plastic packaging, extrusion, or converting, with experience in web handling, tension control loops, robotics, AGVs, vision systems, and pneumatic systems is a big plus.* Enthusiastic, proactive, and driven professional with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
