Main Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary:
The Development Engineer will coordinate and manage engineering and technical development projects utilizing our Phase Gate process to ensure successful results.

Leadership Responsibilities:
Oversees various aspects of workflow, core team selection, budget allocation, and scheduling of the assigned projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans, scoping, timelines, and budgets.
  • Plans, organizes, and leads technical projects for multiple facilities.
  • Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used for the project.
  • Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, or financial stability of vendors.
  • Leads the core team in executing project goals.
  • Ensures projects are on-time, on-budget, and in-full.
  • Collaborates with design team to change project plans if the need arises.
  • Analyzes equipment, systems, labor, technology, and processes, to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Prepares periodic project status reports for leadership.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
  • Collaborates with the operations team to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaborates with project engineers from other plants to share problems and solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related engineering discipline or
    at least ten years of experience in managing technical projects preferably
    in a plastics process manufacturing environment.
  • At least three years of experience leading
    multidisciplinary/cross functional technical teams.
