Radiation Therapist 2

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking Radiation Therapist 2 to join the team. This position full-time (40 hrs/week) working Monday to Friday. Requirements for consideration:

• Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy or Certification.
• 2 years of experience as a Staff Therapist in a Radiation Therapy department with experience in linear accelerators and patient simulation
• American Registered Radiologic Technologist required upon start.
• Basic Life Support from AHA required upon start.

Additional:

• VA License preferred but not required upon start

Job Responsibilities:

• The Radiation Therapist 2 communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, healthcare team members, supervisors and outside contacts.
• Responsible for treatment modalities and protocols to accurately set-up and administer radiation treatments on a daily basis.
• Performs simulation procedures for initial patient set-up while verifying proper functioning of linear accelerators, simulators and Computed Tomography machines.
• Maintains accurate records of daily treatments and other records as required; Documents any corrections in charts resulting from changes in the originally prescribed course of treatment.
