Position Overview
As a Pro Links Sports employee, the Tournament Senior Accountant for the Valspar
Championship is responsible for managing the finances of the tournament and assisting the Tournament Director with all employee-related matters including payroll and benefits
administration.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Process all client approved vendor bills and payments to same.
  • Prepare and file year-end vendor Forms 1099-MISC and Form 1096.
  • Prepare all customer invoices and post customer receipts.
  • Record all Ticket Sales Revenue from data in ticket seller portal
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements.
  • Ensure accuracy of biweekly, quarterly and annual payroll reports.
  • Submit board directed staff salary changes and bonuses.
  • Calculate and submit approved sales commission payouts.
  • Prepare monthly and annual PGA TOUR financial reports.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.
  • Organize and manage on-site and remote finance areas prior to and during Tournament Week to include:
1. Remote and Will-Call ticket sales locations, parking revenue.
2. Uniform sales
  • Audit of concession receipts.
  • Co-sponsored fundraising events.
  • Accumulate, summarize and report on all TRADE agreements.
  • Track and submit all third-party expense chargeback invoices.
  • Prepare monthly reports for Tournament Director and Board Finance Committee.
  • Attend Board meetings and report on the financial condition of the organization.
  • Prepare all schedules for annual audit and laisse with outside audit firm.
  • Prepare all schedules for annual Form 990 and 990-T tax filings and laisse with outside Tax firm.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  • Maintain organizational awareness to Excess Benefit Transactions.
  • Calculate Quid Pro Quo charity percentages and prepare donor acknowledgments.
  • Report on organizational cash flow.
  • Assist with development of Annual Budget.
  • Provide Ad Hoc reporting as requested by Management.
  • Provide counsel and guidance to Staff, Executive Director and Board of Directors on any financial matters requested.
  • Ensure adequate systems are in place for security, accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Maintain proficiency in all aspects of corporate and not-for-profit accounting.
  • Coordinate all certificates of insurance and tournament insurance claim submittals.
  • Work autonomously and proactively to meet deadlines.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or 8+ years of related experience required.
Estimated Job Hours
Nine months per year - 40 hours/week with general exceptions related to special projects and board meeting prep. Two months per year - 40-55 hours/week with general exceptions related to special projects and board meeting prep. Three weeks per year - 50-60 hours/week. Ten days per year - 18-19 hours/day. Applicant must be willing to work occasionally evenings or
weekends in addition to the 10-day tournament week period.
