Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Manager - Geriatrics and Palliative Care. NYU Langone Health is one of the nations premier academic medical centers, renowned for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education. Our Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Care is dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults and patients with serious illnesses through cutting-edge research, compassionate care, and innovative programs. NYU Langone Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Program Manager to spearhead the growth of the research mission within the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Care. This role is pivotal in advancing our research agenda, fostering collaborations, and driving impactful initiatives that enhance our understanding and treatment of geriatric and palliative care issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: In partnership with Division leadership, develop and implement a strategic plan to expand the research mission of the Division, aligning with institutional goals and addressing key areas in geriatrics and palliative care.
  • Program Management: Oversee the execution of research programs, including the coordination of multi-disciplinary teams, management of project timelines, and ensuring alignment with research objectives and funding requirements.
  • Funding and Grants: Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, partnerships, and other sources of support. Manage grant applications, reporting, and compliance to secure and maintain financial resources.
  • Collaboration and Networking: Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and funding agencies. Facilitate collaborations that enhance research capabilities and outcomes.
  • Research Development: Support the development and implementation of innovative research projects and initiatives. Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Support as needed the collection, management, and analysis of research data. Ensure data integrity, compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present reports, updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, research teams, and other stakeholders, as requested. Support the communication of research goals, progress, and outcomes effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior staff and research teams. Foster a collaborative and productive research environment that encourages professional growth and excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Minimum of three years of related experience in an administrative support role or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to develop formulae for moderately sophisticated spreadsheets; set up routine computer procedures; resolve simple software/hardware problems. Ability to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to proofread documents and write clear, concise 1st draft. Ability to type at a speed of at least 50 net words per minute. Ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail. Ability to exercise administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
