Staff Chaplain Spiritual Care Full Time 81421BR Job Summary Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced spiritual care specialist to develop programs and respond to the spiritual needs of patients and their families, faculty, staff, allied health students (as appropriate), and other health care team members. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $63,700 - $136,000 (Annual Rate). To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/index.html Department Description Under general supervision, the Staff Chaplain provides direct spiritual care, crisis and emotional support to patients, their families, interdisciplinary team members, and allied health students, supporting primarily the inpatient population at the Mount Zion Medical Center, including co-coverage of the inpatient portion of Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital and supporting a meaning-making group there with interdisciplinary colleagues. This position will also flex to the Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus when triaging is required. The Chaplain supports the Department in clinically mentoring ACPE Clinical Chaplain Learners, covering Voalte / pager on-call during day shifts, quarterly overnight or day on-call shifts at Parnassus or Mission Bay, and supporting goals of care interdisciplinary team meetings. As an experienced spiritual care specialist the Chaplain offers education and fosters conversation and clarification on cultural, ethical, religious, and other topics/dynamics that can affect patient care, family interactions, and interdisciplinary team and allied health student performance/resiliency. They will assist in developing and maintaining community relations, coordination of community spiritual leaders, and contracted Roman Catholic Priest referrals to meet patient needs via telehealth or in-person visits.
