Job Summary

The Data and Quality Coordinator functions as a vital pooled resource to provide data, regulatory and quality support for the functional areas within Transplant Services. Working with the transplant data and quality team, the analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of a high volume of federally mandated registry data across the continuum of transplant care from referral through post-transplant. The coordinator also participates in chart reviews and audits and communicates outcomes directly to leadership providing areas of focus for optimal compliance and quality improvement.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $75,700 - $160,500 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

UCSF Transplant Services provides care to kidney, liver, lung and pancreas patients with end stage organ failure requiring transplantation. Each year we evaluate over 2,000 potential recipients and living donors and perform over 600 transplants. UCSF is one of the busiest transplant programs in the country with excellent post-transplant outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians provides cutting edge care to our patients and their families.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree, or a combination of comparable education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of QI standards, clinical chart review and abstraction, and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of QI models, tools, and techniques, including collection, aggregation, abstraction, analysis, and reporting of data.
  • Detail-oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to complete projects and tasks on a timely basis.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills to assess problems quickly and develop multiple options for effective and timely resolution.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with a range of clinical and technical staff and representatives of external regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively convey complex clinical and technical information both verbally and in writing and to produce reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of various administrative and business software packages, and of the specialized applications for quality data management.
