Central Washington University is recruiting an Assistant Professor to join our Curriculum, Supervision, and Educational Leadership (CSEL) team in Ellensburg, Washington. The Role:

The Department of Curriculum, Supervision, & Educational Leadership (CSEL) is seeking an Assistant Professor of Education Foundations and pedagogy, with a focus in Alternative Routes to Teacher Certification and Residency Programs. Primary responsibility includes teaching graduate courses within our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program. Some undergraduate teacher preparation courses may also be assigned. This position could include the responsibility of coordinating the MAT program. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, scholarly activity (peer-reviewed publications, grant writing, conference presentations, etc.), program development and assessment, and professional service. Faculty will integrate CWU's commitment to diversity and create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible and inclusive for all students.

CWU and the CSEL department have a long tradition of preparing teachers and school administrators. Education faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to a constructivist philosophy, keep abreast of current and emerging education trends (e.g., performance-based program assessment, educational technology), and possess an understanding and commitment to the principles of cultural responsiveness. Primary job duties and responsibilities will take place online, both synchronously and asynchronously, as well as participating in some in-person meetings in Ellensburg, WA.

• Earned doctorate in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a highly related field with a focus on Teacher Education.
• Three or more years of teaching experience at the PK-12 level OR Possession of or eligibility for a valid teaching certificate for any US state.
• Research, teaching, service, or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's commitment to being a model learning community of equity and belonging.

• Demonstrated training in and/or experience in implementing anti-racism, diversity, and inclusion-related materials or pedagogical practices in credit-bearing courses, certificate programs, or professional development-type trainings, workshops, or seminars.

Annual Salary: $66,000 - $76,000, based on a full-time nine-month appointment
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Appointment: Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June
