JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Presidential Leadership Academy (PLA) seeks a talented intern to support the Presidential Leadership Academy`s social media and communications andmarketingefforts. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate proficiency in writing, editing and content creation for print, web and social media. The ability to provide tactical communications support for current projects and projects in development is key for this position. Duties may include but are not limited to: develop story lines for PLA website as well as other digital andprintcommunications; assist with marketing specifically for social media for PLA recruitment; prepare and release key social media releases (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram); interview PLA students and alumni for PLA stories, a weekly campaign which is posted on Instagram (Thursday) and Facebook (Sunday); assist PLA staff as needed on a variety of tasks, including photo shoots, events, and special projects; and provide marketing support inthe formof research and analysis of current marketing campaigns and the development of new campaigns.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
