Job Summary:



A Director of JFK Partners is being sought to assume leadership of a nationally recognized center with dedicated service providers, researchers, family members, and those with lived experience, committed to promoting equal opportunity for children, youth, and adults with disabilities.

LEND Project Director

The role of LEND project director (PD) should have direct, functional responsibility for the program for which support is directed. The PD is expected to commit a minimum of 30 percent effort on this project. While it is acceptable to have co-directors, only one PD is formally recognized by HRSA on the notice of award (NOA) and will receive key HRSA communications. The recognized PD is not a shared position, as the PD listed on the NOA is expected to commit a minimum of 30 percent of time to the project. The PD is responsible for ensuring the proper use of the MCH training grant and will be expected to attend LEND and related meetings, or designate another program representative, and is expected to work directly with the MCHB program officer.

UCEDD Project Director

The role of the UCEDD PD is to oversee and support interdisciplinary education, research, dissemination, public service, and advocacy within university of Colorado School of Medicine, community agencies, and inform state and/or federal legislators. They will review program recommendations from JFK Partners' Community Advisory Committee and collaborate with Disability Law Colorado and the Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council, our sister agencies also funded by ACL. The PD is responsible for ensuring the proper use of ACL funding and will be expected to attend AUCD and related UCEDD meetings, or designate another program representative, and is expected to work directly with the UCEDD program officer.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversight of discipline directors, other faculty, and staff
  • Direct involvement with selection and oversight of fellows and trainees
  • Timely submission of grant progress and performance reports
  • A minimum of 0.2 cFTE for those in clinical disciplines
  • Direct interactions with ACL sister agencies (DD Council; Protection and Advocacy organization)
  • Director or their designee provides input related to disability policy and advocacy
  • Participation in local, regional national, and/or international disability-related committees
  • The Director would be expected to lead and/or participate in efforts to secure incremental, extramural funding in support of their own professional effort (FTE) and the program(s) overall,
  • Contribute to expanding fund of knowledge related to IDD, SHCN, health equity, and/or system changes

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Associate Professor:



  • Terminal degree in medicine education, public administration, public health, law, economics, social sciences, psychology, or related field or currently approved LEND or UCEDD director.
  • Extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families, as well as with disability-focused agencies or organizations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in programs serving individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and/or other special health care needs.
  • Experience serving as a principal investigator, co-investigator, or grant director.


Professor:



  • Terminal degree in medicine education, public administration, public health, law, economics, social sciences, psychology, or related field or currently approved LEND or UCEDD director.
  • Extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families, as well as with disability-focused agencies or organizations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in programs serving individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and/or other special health care needs.
  • Experience serving as a principal investigator, co-investigator, or grant director.


Condition of Employment:



  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Seven or more years of experience in programs serving children with individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and/or other special health care needs
  • Substantial record of research, publications, presentations, and grants administration
  • Embodiment of the values of independence, productivity, and community inclusion as outlined within the DD Act
  • Academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor

  • Understanding of AUCD network, particularly LEND and UCEDD Programs, and their role, purpose, and mission.
  • Skill and experience program administration, research, training, outreach, technical assistance, resource development/leverage, and dissemination activities.
  • Knowledge and skills related to direct lived experience as a person with a disability and/or family/caregiver experience.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

MD candidates:

Associate Professor: $200,000 - $250,000

Professor: $250,000 - $300,000

Clinical PhD candidates:

Associate Professor: $150,000 - $170,000

Professor: $180,000 - $200,000

Non-Clinical PhD Candidates:

Associate Professor: $140,000 - $160,000

Professor: $160,000 - $180,000

Masters Level Terminal Degree Candidates:

Associate Professor: $125,000 - $150,000

Professor: $135,000 - $160,000

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
