Summer 2025 Internship Opportunity

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customized Solutions QA Specialist to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our customized solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This role requires an understanding of electrical systems, problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This individual displays behaviors that support our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:



  • Job shadowing various roles and departments to learn about Van Meter
  • Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to understand client specifications and requirements for customized solutions.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and testing methodologies to evaluate customized products.
  • Perform inspections and testing of electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
  • Analyze test results and provide feedback for continuous improvement of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Document quality assurance processes, findings, and recommendations in detailed reports.
  • Participate in the development of training materials and quality-related documentation.
  • Assist in resolving any quality-related issues, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and enhance product quality.
  • Attend and participate in company and department meetings
  • Achieve a strong competency in all needed databases, tools, systems, and processes
  • Manage communication both internally and externally

Job Requirements/Specifications:



  • High School Graduate
  • Currently enrolled in a College or University pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Assurance or a related field
  • Proven experience in quality assurance, preferably in the electrical supply or manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and industry standards (e.g., UL)
  • Proficiency in quality management tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma)
  • Considered a Leader
  • Excellent ability to learn and implement new software packages quickly
  • Proven people skills
  • Able to commit to a set work schedule
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Work Environment & Physical Demand:
