What this job involves: Join our Facilities Team at a major Life Sciences account! This unique opportunity offers flexible multi-shift work to ensure a safe workplace for our team. Responsibilities include responding to alarms, troubleshooting, and resolving issues safely and efficiently. You'll monitor systems such as Siemens, REES, Edstrom, and Delta V, addressing out-of-tolerance limits and alarms promptly. Duties also involve sanitizing water systems as needed, supporting contract work, shutdowns, and project supervision. You'll process and analyze hot/cold calls, collaborate with other departments, and manage the chilled water system. Timely submission of work orders and effective communication across shifts with supervisors and team members is essential. Daily site tours are required, with extended coverage as necessary to complete tasks and cover for supervisors. You'll be the single point of contact during equipment failures, familiar with cause mapping and root cause analysis. We seek an ambassador of customer service to foster strong client and inter-department relationships.

What your day-to-day will look like:
Investigate and troubleshoot issues, performing repairs on mechanical equipment, including complex air movement and HVAC systems.
Perform preventive maintenance on various mechanical and electrical equipment.
Inspect, repair, and replace pumps and piping systems, including valves, components, and fittings.
Analyze basic heating, cooling, and humidification cycles, identifying components and diagnosing problems to carry out routine maintenance and repairs.
Inspect mechanical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and necessary adjustments or repairs, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
Utilize a variety of tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
Conduct minor building maintenance as required.
Operate various hand and power tools.
Maintain daily reports, records, and logs for assigned equipment.

Work Schedule:
This position follows a rotating shift:
7 days on / 1 day off
7 days on / 2 days off
7 days on / 5 days off

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
A technical college or trade program is preferred, as is HVAC certification.
Five years of experience with mechanical and HVAC systems in an office building setting is highly desirable.

Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Proficient in using electrical and handheld diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and specialized tools necessary for the role.
EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification is required.
Possess knowledge of industry standards for mechanical and HVAC maintenance and apply this knowledge to the maintenance, inspection, and testing of campus mechanical systems.
An ability to read, interpret, and understand basic engineering drawings, specifications, work orders, and equipment manuals is essential.
