Get to Know Your Team:

  • UT Health Jacksonville features 33 operational beds, an ICU, a 24-hour ED designated as a Level IV trauma center, a maternity unit, advanced diagnostic technology, surgical suites, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness and rehabilitation facility.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, and nonclinical aspects of preparing medications for dispending and assist in pharmacy operations.
  • Restock and pharmacy with inventory from orders and medications received from returns from the floor or automated dispensing machines.
  • Ensure all expired, damaged, or compromised medication in a pharmacy, automated machines, and floor stock are removed and segregated from active inventory.
  • Maintain documentation of activities and file records.
  • Assist in training newly hired pharmacy technicians.
  • Prepare sterile intravenous admixtures aseptically and by USP 797/800 and State Board of Pharmacy Regulations.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • 1 year previous hospital pharmacy technician experience.
  • National Certification (CPhT)
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
