PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Owens Corning's Global Information Services (GIS) provides a technology platform that supports the company's growing global business needs. Understanding the needs and applying robust digital workplace solutions is a critical part of our enterprise's ability to collaborate, produce, and ship products across our 100+ manufacturing locations worldwide spanning 33 countries. The Manufacturing Endpoint Platform Owner is a technical role accountable for the on-going discovery, design, and implementation of solutions within the digital manufacturing infrastructure space. This domain covers technologies, services, and hardware that equip our front-line workers and manufacturing operation teams with the endpoint capabilities needed to fulfill their job efficiently and securely at OC.

Working closely with other technology groups, business operations teams and key suppliers, this role is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and security of the digital manufacturing IT infrastructure that supports our workforce. This includes managing various endpoints and platforms, such as handhelds, tablets, thin clients, scanning devices, and cloud services, as well as designing and implementing strategies for endpoint deployment and maintenance using the latest technologies. The ongoing operations and provisioning of endpoint hardware, including processes and platforms, is key to enhancing the overall front-line user experience. This role ensures that these devices and services are built and managed for high availability and performance with the goal of maximizing productivity for our front-line workers and manufacturing operations worldwide.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build relationships within the organization, cross-functionally, and with key stakeholders; ensure effective contact to remain aligned with functional objectives.
  • Understand the strategic direction of the company's businesses and execute technical strategies to enhance business results; lead conversations while setting direction for the platforms and solutions owned.
  • Know what best-in-class IT organizations do and obtain outside-in market insights to understand and then apply to positively impact Owens Corning.



Executing Strategy

Platform Leadership



  • Partner with Manufacturing IT, business sponsors, fellow cross-functional teams to develop understanding and direction for new device and endpoint capabilities that drive Owens Corning's digital manufacturing work environment.
  • Drive curiosity and a consultative mindset when working across business and manufacturing user communities to enhance product innovation, technology design, and platform development.
  • In conjunction with technical leads and teams, participate in strategy, architecture standards and roadmaps for secure digital manufacturing endpoint hardware, software, and services.
  • Design and implement endpoint technical and software solutions to address the productivity needs and ease of doing work for global front-line workers thus enhancing manufacturing operations excellence.
  • Partner across various technical domains ensuring sustainable integration with end-user, network, voice, security, and business applications as necessary.
  • Connect and foster relationships with key vendors and suppliers that drive adoption of required technology and while generating value for our function and the business.
  • Develop a deep level of knowledge for the products, platforms, and adjacent systems being developed while leading education and training sessions to end users, support teams, and technical communities.
  • Continuously stay informed on product changes and provider offerings while taking advantage of best-in-class features such as automation and AI.



Project Execution



  • Lead partner engagements for endpoint and digital manufacturing projects, ensuring that all efforts meet technical, operational, and business aligned objectives.
  • Partner with project management teams to ensure appropriate estimates, quotes, sourcing documents, and other financial related materials are in place for timely and successful execution.
  • Coordinate the design, implementation, testing, and enhancement of digital manufacturing endpoint solutions bringing alignment with current and emerging device and capability standards.
  • Present new initiatives to architecture and project governance boards that include technical designs, cost models, support plans, and relevant information to successfully adopt new technology and drive key efforts.



Service Delivery Excellence



  • Bring oversight to the endpoint hardware and software lifecycle, ensuring compliance with functional requirements and security policies while providing stewardship over analytical capabilities driving continuous improvement.
  • Establish strong relationships with key support partners and operational team resources to enable platform specific strategy while achieving a high level of product performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Ensure global license standards are developed within the accountable platforms that are sustainable, provide cost efficiency, and can be managed easily by the operations teams.
  • Act as an escalation point for support teams to help identify and resolve complex endpoint and digital manufacturing device operational issues, providing expert guidance to meet defined SLRs and XLRs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualification



  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years' experience in the IT field with concentration around infrastructure and/or applications.
  • Deep knowledge of endpoint technology including hardware and software along with IT operations.
  • Proficient in coordinating complex projects and activities within cross-functional teams.



Experience



  • Experienced across Microsoft, Apple and Google operating systems, browsers, hardware products and services.
  • Familiarity with industry leading manufacturing endpoint and device hardware and operating systems.
  • Experienced with endpoint management systems, services, integration, provisioning platforms and processes.


  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and inspire trust with multiple stakeholders to get results.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and confidently across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment with broader organizational strategies and goals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter with a sense of curiosity and desire to continuously learn and grow.
  • Strong track record in influencing cross-functional teams and delivering outstanding results in a global, culturally diverse team environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and demonstrate a team-oriented partnership with a focus on delivering results.
  • Ability to travel up to an estimated 15%, domestic and international.
