Description

This position allows for an optional hybrid work arrangement which includes a combination of both in-office and remote work on a weekly basis. To be eligible for the program, employees must complete a minimum of 90 days of continuous employment, be in good standing, and agree to the terms of a Work from Home Agreement prior to being eligible for hybrid work. The employee's request is subject to supervisor approval. Working locations and hybrid schedules may be altered at management discretion.

Position Summary:

The Title Servicing Specialist is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all our liens are properly perfected on all our collateral loans. The incumbent should have a thorough understanding of the title process and a working knowledge of our core and various systems. This position collaborates with branch staff, underwriters, collections and other departments to affirm the accuracy of consumer loan accounts. Responds to loan and core system generated opportunities and audit reports in a timely manner while ensuring all policies and procedures are met. The incumbent will also be the primary back up to the Loan Servicing Specialist and will be cross trained in many of their job functions.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:



  1. Subject matter experts in titles and lien perfection in order to protect the credit union assets.
  2. Files UCC liens for marine and merchant lending products.
  3. Proficient with the Dealertrack titling system.
  4. Posts auto loan payoffs and releases of liens. Makes recommendations for loan payoff shortages, taking into account history, member relationship and other applicable information.
  5. Maintains a working knowledge of TruStage products, including posting and the administration of credit life and disability products. Responds to internal inquiries and provides assistance to ensure they are properly documented and reported. Responsible for providing letter of guarantees for all total loss claims in addition to the handling of all gap claims.
  6. Manages a large queue of core system generated opportunities in support of the branches, Lending Center, and Collections. Dispositions all loan account actions in a timely manner. Verifies the accuracy of loan data and payments.
  7. Meet with DMV 2X weekly to transact business on behalf of the credit union.
  8. Completes research requests and loan transfers in a timely and efficient manner.
  9. Assists in refunds of products as necessary.


Other Responsibilities and Duties



  1. Assists Loan Servicing Manager in completing the collateral protection insurance report, which includes account adjustments and resolutions. Works with collateral protection service provider seeking resolutions for collateral loan accounts in default of contract.

    Adheres to credit union loan standards, policies and procedures and state/federal regulations.
  2. Maintains a working knowledge of loan processing activities/duties. Performs loan processing duties as needed.
  3. Assists in maintaining the loan servicing manual. Recommends ways to become more efficient and effective.
  4. Follows and ensures compliance with all Launch policies and procedures.
  5. Completes assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
  6. Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
  7. Performs outer duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Skills Required.



  1. Minimum two years of similar or related experience working in a setting where attention to detail is paramount. Prior experience working in a high volume loan servicing/processing office is preferred.
  2. A high school education or GED.
  3. Displays courtesy, tact, and diplomacy during personal contact with others inside and/or outside of the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required.
  4. Detail oriented, organized, accurate, able to work under pressure, and has an ability to adapt to change. Must have sound judgment and decision making skills.
  5. Must be knowledgeable of the credit union products and services, or able to learn them quickly, including the various types of loan products that are offered. Has an understanding of the documentation that is required for each loan type. Able to read and accurately assess a credit report.
  6. Able and willing to refer credit union products and services based on member/prospect needs.
  7. Proficient with the use of computers. Ability to use a calculator and initiative to learn new technology and tasks.
  8. Has an understanding of the Truth in Savings Act, Patriot Act, Reg. CC, BSA, OFAC, FACT Act, Reg. B and Reg. Z.
