Duties

• Be a contributing team member in the design, development and productizing of laser based medical devices.
• Work under the supervision of mechanical engineers to assemble system prototypes, test fixtures, breadboard test fixtures.
• Maintain good lab practices of equipment and tool organization.
• Learn and work with the PLM documentation system (Arena).

Education requirements

• High School or Associates Degree.
• Hands on experience assembling, building and participating in the evaluation of mechanical systems.
• Natural hands on skills; a desire to know "how things work".

Experience Requirements:

• Associate Mechanical Engineering Technician: Minimum one internship semester acting as technician.
• Mechanical Engineering Technician: 2-3 year's experience in the work environment.
• Mechanical Engineering Technician: 5-8 years experience in the work environment.
• Understanding of machining methods, assembly methods, fasteners,
• Ability to read assembly drawings and procedures, and help redline as part of prototype development.
• Willingness to learn and develop additional skills.
• An interest in creating medical devices that advance medical care.
• An interest in lasers and optics is desired.
