The University of Georgia Facilities Management Division is the largest of seven (7) divisions reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. The exceptional staff of over 900 personnel within the division manage, operate and maintain campus landscapes, buildings and infrastructure to promote the long-term sustainability of the University.

Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM On occasion, employee may be required to perform duties after hours (evenings and weekends) due to emergency situations or planned work. This position will also have a on-call rotation schedule.

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

This is skilled technical work at a journeyman level involving the operation, maintenance, repair, and alteration of the campus Electric High Voltage Distribution System as a member of a lineman team. The Team's mission includes 24 hour response to campus electrical outages to restore power as quickly as possible.

Performs High Voltage Lineman work:

Troubleshoots HV system and/or component problems.

Prepares work related documents (work orders, vouchers, reports, purchase request, etc.).

Responds to after-hours emergency needs and planned work.

Performs scheduled exterior lighting surveys and associated work resulting from surveys.

Performs other work as required in support of general maintenance activities.
