Enrichment Instructor (Chess Club Weekdays 5-6 PM) - West Suburban

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the Youth and Family Director, the Enrichment Class Instructor is responsible for carrying out preschool enrichment curriculum in a studio-style setting with toddlers & preschool aged children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create and carry out lesson plans.
2. Create an environment that is welcoming, nurturing and genuine for all members and guests.
3. Complete necessary handouts and student evaluations during the session.
4. Find a qualified substitute in the event of your absence or illness.
5. Maintain positive public relations at all times with program participants and the community.
6. Be responsible for the appearance of the room. Set up and put away equipment before and after class.
7. Be responsible for strict adherence of all YMCA of Greater Waukesha County department policies and procedures related to safety and ensure compliance with local and state rules and regulations.
8. Develops and maintains positive relationships with members, participants and staff and provides motivational support and guidance.
9. Exemplifies the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of job performance and in relationships with others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The candidate must be at least 16 years of age. Previous experience instructing in a classroom setting is preferred. Must have the physical ability to sit on the floor or stand for 30-45 minutes at a time and be able to lift or carry 30 pounds. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to think and act quickly in emergency situations. Previous preschool programming experience is preferred.
