A member of the Executive Staff and responsible for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the entire business. Responsible for leading, planning, organizing and directing the improvement of all operational metrics and business processes. This position directs and coordinates these activities to manufacture all customer products on schedule, within required quality targets and at cost objectives
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- MBA or other advanced degree related to responsibilities preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of ten years of related progressive experience in a complex manufacturing environment including a minimum of five years of senior management experience; responsibilities and accomplishments are expected to have grown with experience
- Experience with the Toyota Production System in manufacturing is highly valued
- Possess Six Sigma Black Belt certification (prefer DMAIC Methodology) as well as demonstrated history of implementing continuous improvement processes and tools that improved business results
- Thorough knowledge of quality management systems and procedures including ISO, ASQ, NADCAP as well as ensuring the company's QMS system complies with all external (independent and customer) requirements and audits
- In depth knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes including SMT, through-hole technology, assembly, test, conformal coating, and box build assembly
- Excellent leadership, program/project management, contract, and OEM operations management with experience in relevant technology-based companies in regulated markets
- Excellent written and verbal computer and communication skills
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government granted Security clearance, if necessary
- Some travel required on an as needed basis
Responsibilities:
- Work in a matrixed environment of all Operations functions including: Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Facilities
- Produces successful operational execution results including, but not limited to cost, quality and on-time delivery requirements
- Participates and contributes to the development, implementation and successful performance against the business Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
- Assists the VP and GM in developing, prioritizing, and executing business strategies; defines improvement strategies and ensures results for operations, quality, engineering, NPI, facilities, and continuous improvement departments
- Develops strategies and annual operations business plans designed to identify objectives and actions needed to improve overall operational performance and meet customer and business objectives
- Works closely with Finance to develop (AOP) and monitor costs and spending within budget for operations functional areas
- Sponsors Lean and/or Six Sigma project charters and activities to promote business improvement processes
- Ensures a customer focused continuous improvement culture is embraced throughout the organization
- Acts as a change agent for improvement initiatives
- Possesses the ability and interpersonal skills to influence all levels of the organization
- Provides overall leadership, direction, and counsel to the Executive Staff regarding continuous improvement across the business
- Advises appropriate personnel of the latest technical and manufacturing developments
- Performs management responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies and applicable laws
