Job Description:

The System Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of JHS IT infrastructure. By overseeing Active Directory, they manage user access and permissions, ensuring that only authorized personnel can access sensitive information. Handling server hardware involves maintaining and upgrading physical servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The System Engineer manages virtualized environments with VMware, allowing for efficient resource utilization and scalability. Lastly, by managing backups, the System Engineer ensures that critical data is regularly saved and can be quickly restored in case of data loss or system failures. Together, these responsibilities help maintain a robust and secure IT environment, supporting JHS's overall operations and goals.

  • System Design and Implementation: Develop and implement solutions that integrate multiple systems to meet business requirements.
  • Maintenance and Support: Ensure the smooth operation of systems by performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support.
  • Automation: Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor system performance and security to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Cloud Services: Managing Office 365 licenses, Entra ID, and permissions.
  • Project Management: Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring they stay within budget and on schedule.
  • Technical Analysis and Problem Solving: Conduct detailed technical analysis and troubleshooting to resolve complex system issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, IT professionals, and management to ensure system integrity and security.
  • Documentation: Create detailed documentation that outlines system configuration, processes, and maintenance procedures.
  • Other: Perform other duties and responsibilities as set forth by IT Management.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field is required. Eight years of related experience can be used instead of a degree. A high school diploma or equivalent is still required.
  • Minimum five years of related experience required.
  • Experience managing servers, Active Directory, VMware, backup, and support required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and identify/document root causes.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
  • Office 365, Dell Server, backup, and basic networking skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA) desired
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Engineer (MCSE) desired
  • VMware Certified Associate (VCA) - desired
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) desired
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) desired
  • CISSP preferred
  • Pharmaceutical and FDA Regulated Industry experience desired.
  • Regulated industry experience desired.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
  • Microsoft Security Appliance, Site24x7, -, SAP, Multiple ISPs, Cisco VoIP, Cisco Unity. IT ticketing system, AWS, Azure Cloud platforms, and O365 platforms are desired.

Shift: Mon- Fri days.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

  • Hiring Wage: $73,500 - $118,300 annually depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. See full list of benefits below for our complete compensation package.
