JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Child Care Center at Hort Woods, on the University Park campus, is seeking a candidate for a Early Childhood Development Educator - Float (working with children as young as 6 weeks to 5 years old) committed to the process of creating and providing high quality learning environments for young children and families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting and maintaining high quality classroom standards in a laboratory setting
  • Coordinating and implementing an innovative curriculum model with a team of colleagues
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships of cooperation and respect with all co-workers, supervisors, and families
  • Maintaining standards in accordance with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation and PA Keystone STARS 4 quality standards

This position requires a minimum of an Associate's degree, or minimum of Child Development (CDA) Credential plus 2 years of related experience.

This position requires:

  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, and the National Sex Offender Registry Clearance (NSOR)
  • A health physical with TB test is also required prior to starting the position
  • Additional clearances may be necessary if you resided outside of Pennsylvania in the past five years

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$31,600.00 - $45,800.00

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
