General Summary of Position:

We're looking for a Director of Learning and Development that will lead the entire training and development department. They are responsible for the assessment and identification of the business's training and development needs, for the effective coordination of training and development programs for the business. The Director of Training actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective training methods for enhancing performance, and recognizing outstanding performance.

The Director maintains a consistent culture in the business with regard to training and development. The Director of Training is responsible for the creation, implementation, and improvement of all business-wide training efforts. The performance of the business is highly dependent on the training and support from the training department, which implies that the director monitoring the activities of the department must be highly experienced, motivated, and dedicated to quality training across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Leading programs to assist employees with transitions due to technological changes
  • Searching for gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity
  • Identifying future training needs and creating a curriculum to facilitate that training
  • Designing, planning, and implementing corporate training programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicating with management, trainers and team members to ensure that all needs are met
  • Conducting orientation programs and arranging on-the-job training for new hires
  • Coaching, mentoring, and leading trainers
  • Communicating and reporting successes and progress to management
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs, the employees, and the trainers


Required Qualifications:



  • Strong people leadership and mentoring skills, as well as ability to grow a team.
  • Work experience as a Training Director, Training Manager or similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in related area
  • Minimum 7 years of training experience
  • In-depth understanding of traditional and modern training methods (including workshops, simulations, e-learning and coaching)
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience organizing training activities in a corporate environment
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Critical Thinking Skills
  • Highly motivated, energetic, self-starter
  • Great work ethic
  • Hands-on experience with project management and budgeting
