Position Details
What You Will Be Doing


  • Work within Low to Moderate Income Communities in an attempt to enhance home ownership
  • Build relationships with local community organizations which will ultimately enhance the distribution of First Bank LMI Mortgage Loan programs.
  • Seek financial assistance in the form of down payment assistance programs for our borrowers
  • Be the First Bank representative who works with community leadership in order to increase visibility regarding home ownership in the communities we serve.
  • Solicits residential mortgages through contact with realtors, builders, branch referrals and other resources.
  • Meets with loan applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process.
  • Work with perspective borrowers' to review financial status (income and debt) in order to explore way to apply for a viable mortgage loan program.
  • Explains to potential borrowers the different types of loans, assess the best options for their needs and makes recommendations. Provides required disclosures to borrowers.
  • Submits completed applications along with required supporting documents for credit approval. Confers with underwriters to aid in resolving mortgage application concerns and keeps customer aware of the process. Responds to customer complaints and takes action to resolve them.
  • Advises borrowers of underwriting decisions and works with both borrower and underwriter to ensure that all underwriting conditions are met. Coordinates loan closing and assists borrowers in the closing process.
  • Works with First Bank branch employees to obtain mortgage loan referrals and to cross-sell products and services. Encourages borrowers to maintain a First Bank banking relationship.
  • Meets minimum loan production requirements as set forth by management.
  • Understands and complies with all First Bank policies and guidelines regarding mortgage loans and acts in conformance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Registration System required upon employment
