Responsibilities

Global Solutions Delivery - Electromobility Solutions Commissioning Engineer

This position will ideally be based in Novi Michigan, but remote locations will be considered for well qualified individuals. You will be representing Keysight Technologies' Global Solutions Delivery team, assisting external customers in the definition, implementation and commissioning of Keysight's power portfolio for Battery Test Labs and EV solutions, associated products and services. Will be responsible for estimating and delivery of solutions and ensuring successful implementation of customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest skill set in Electrical engineering, Electrical design, software and control systems - related to HV/LV Power/E-mobility industry.

A successful candidate must have the ability to understand customer's problems, recommend solutions to meet their needs, and ensure customer satisfaction.

As a Electromobility Solutions Commissioning Engineer, you will integrate Keysight products and services (at the system/solutions level) into a customer's environment. Responsibilities also include ensuring our system solution platform is functioning properly at the customer site. Travel of >50% may be required.

Solution Commissioning Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Knowledgeable of Project deployment, Site preparation, commissioning & delivery of systems.
  • Skill set in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, Test Systems related to Electrical Mobility and Energy Generation/Transfer/Storage Industry.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and professional attitude. Capable to work with external contractors, and carry out work breakdowns.
  • Implement in the planning, scheduling of new installation platform of Keysight/EV systems at customer sites.
  • Competent with Software applications/tools to control and validate during commissioning /acceptance test for (Linux, Flash download software, Power Testing/Charging Application software).
  • Developing content for Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Overall system validation via test case execution.
  • Obtaining solution acceptance with customers.

Typical applications supported by this role include Power Electronics, High Voltage, High Current E-Mobility areas:

  • Battery Pack, Battery Module, and Cell Testing.
  • Electric car - On board Charger.
  • Charging Infrastructure Test and deployment.
  • AC and DC emulation.
  • Integration of 3rd party elements such as chillers and chambers.

  • At least 2 years relevant experience in electrical, industrial application and/or solution commissioning.
  • Knowledgeable of project deployment, site preparation & ability to supply requirements for definition and planning.
  • Experienced with system commissioning and acceptance testing - preferably in a customer facing role.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and professional attitude.
  • Communication in English and capable to work with colleagues across multiple disciplines/regions.
  • Producing a high degree of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • The ability to effectively communicate value propositions, ideas, and points of view is very important in this position.
  • Knowledge and proven experience of requirements to manage aspects of Safety, Electrical / Facility connectivity and 3rd party wiring plans for EV equipment installation.
  • Knowledge of 3rd party and remote terminal connectivity required to monitor temperature, gas and associated safety aspects.
  • Capable to work with Linux command set for safety systems, microcontroller flashing.
  • Knowledge of battery technology, EV testing standards, electric vehicle energy storage systems, charging systems and power delivery are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of control and set up for 3rd party equipment used in EV Testing (coolant conditioners, climatic chambers, data acquisition, power switches, electrical load).
  • Modbus and CANbus experience desired.
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Highly desired: Michigan or a South-Eastern state physical location.
