Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities
- Introduces new employees to their job function(s), department and co-workers. Puts them at ease and establishes a supportive relationship with them.
- Ensures all training is accomplished in their department for the job function(s) they are responsible for including new hire onboarding as well as ongoing or recurring training required of employees in their department.
- Provides new hires with a one-on-one learning experience.
- Able to define the job function and the "why" or WIIFM to get the employee invested in the work - including goals as well as consequences and rewards related to performance.
- Explain all responsibilities and procedures and how their job contributes to the overall process/outcome.
- Participates in safety training for new and current employees related to safe work practices.
- Encourages new hires to ask questions. Calmly corrects behaviors and coaches when mistakes are made.
- Monitors and assesses employees progress during designated onboarding period.
- Upon successful completion of onboarding, facilitate incorporation of new employee into work team/department and follow-up frequently to ensure things continue to go well throughout their first year.
- May provide remedial and supplemental training to employees to assist them in learning proper job function(s), safe work habits or cross training.
- Adheres to structured training process and utilizes standardized training tools and resources.
- Reviews Dedicated Plant Trainer evaluation/feedback forms from new hires with Training Coordinator on a monthly basis, determines areas of opportunity and action plan to continuously improve training skills.

- Experienced at evaluating employee job performance/techniques.
- Must exhibit patience, flexibility, adaptability and dedication for training and developing others.
- Must be able to deal with stressful situations calmly and exhibit good judgement.
- Unique ability to break down a job into concise steps with detailed descriptions, while demonstrating behaviors for success.
- Consistent, patient and encouraging when teaching repetitive processes.
- Keen observer who provides ample opportunity and time for new hire to practice skills before signing off on independent performance.
- Leads by example regarding preparation of work area, equipment, materials, supplies.
- Has a positive attitude and is respectful to ensure employee is engaged in training.
- Preferred minimum of two years experience at plant, be highly skilled at job function and extremely knowledgeable about the department and plant operations.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bilingual, preferred
Technical Skills:
- Proven ability to use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
