Geosyntec is offering a unique opportunity for a motivated Stakeholder Engagement and Community Benefits Professional who is interested in participating and supporting a variety of capital projects covering the full spectrum of Stakeholder Engagement, Scoping meetings, Community Benefits Plans, environmental justice analysis, socioeconomic assessments, and incentives pursuits. The Capital Projects Permitting and Planning team works with our clients to effectively identify, plan and account for, manage and mitigate project risks and opportunities relevant to their business, the environment, and local communities. Our ideal candidate would have experience identifying and cultivating positive relationships with stakeholders, managing socioeconomic tasks integral to successful project execution, and navigating complex local and regional issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Support business development, marketing and proposal development, project management processes;
  • Assess, develop, and build community engagement practices, stakeholder analysis, mapping, and comprehensive plans for clients;
  • Provide support in maintaining high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, social media posts and engaging an online community, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events;
  • Work closely, develop relationships, and draw upon talent, knowledge, and expertise within Geosyntec's professional and corporate staff in other US and International offices;
  • Assist in the development and transfer of knowledge and skills to other professionals across the Geosyntec platform, including opportunities in recruiting and training additional staff members as the practice continues its high-growth trajectory; and
  • Serve in a leadership role within the Gulf Coast & Energy's Capital Projects Permitting and Planning team in developing and building upon the unique company culture, practice and encourage others to live the values, especially safety-mindset, diversity and inclusion, and sustainability across the organization.
  • Training: We offer professional development opportunities including technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in science, engineering, planning or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree from an accredited university in science, engineering, planning or related field. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience leading stakeholder engagement and community benefits plan development; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position. (required)
  • Experience preparing and editing technical documents, reports, publications, and presentations. (required)
  • Practical problem-solving abilities and critical and analytical thinking skills. (required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate information clearly and succinctly to project team members. (required)
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships and to adapt to different communication styles and interact effectively to maintain a team environment. (required)
  • Ability to thrive in a client deadline-driven work environment - organize, multitask, prioritize, and manage workflow. (required)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain constant attention to detail, and work collaboratively and independently to perform effectively under tight deadlines. (required)
  • Advanced Windows proficiency, including MS Professional (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
