Description

AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled butter makers, and cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:



  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  3. Duties of the heavy production worker may include cheese trimmer, palletizer for the process line, trim handling, cool and rack loaves, case packer, production checker, feeding stacking slice and load hauler.
  4. Operate packaging equipment efficiently and safely.
  5. Monitors procedures and working conditions that could result in product contamination or excessive waste.
  6. Communicates effectively with plant personnel.
  7. Verify quality control items such as product weights, coding, uniformity, and packaging.
  8. Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping.
  9. Operate various machines at an efficient level to fulfill plant demands.
  10. Assist with sanitation and housekeeping throughout the plant.
  11. Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and policies.
  12. Assist with training new employees.
  13. Provide assistance to the maintenance personnel for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
  14. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  15. Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  16. Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE



  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
