The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Feinberg School of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology & Stem Cell Transplantation, seeks a talented candidate for the investigator track (tenure-eligible track) at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join our section of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (SCT-CT). The physician-scientist in this position will lead a basic science/translational program that is aligned with the research priorities set forth by the strategic plan of the division and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. Other responsibilities will include limited clinical time on the inpatient SCT-CT service as well as participation in the teaching and educational activities of the division/section.

The Section of HCT-CT at Lurie Children's Hospital delivers outstanding clinical care and promotes excellence in clinical and translational research related to the field of hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy. Current staffing in the section includes 4 full-time faculty, 3 outpatient and 6 inpatient advanced practice providers, 2 nurses, 1 social worker, quality manager. The section also holds a large and diverse portfolio of research initiatives, including studies that are federally funded, consortium-led, investigator-initiated, and industry-sponsored, with support from 2 research coordinators and 1 data manager.

The Division of Hematology, Oncology, Neuro-Oncology & Stem Cell Transplantation includes 28 faculty, 10 fellows and 39 advanced practice providers. The Division also offers the region's most complete array of programs and services for children with blood disorders sickle cell disease, thalassemia, hemophilia/other bleeding disorders, and thrombophilia/blood clotting disorders. Lurie Children's has the region's largest pediatric hematology and oncology team, caring for more than 5,000 infants, children, and adolescents each year.

The successful candidate will have earned the following credentials and experience:

  • An MD or MD/PhD degree, Board Certification in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, a medical license, or eligibility for, in the State of Illinois
  • An academic appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor
