Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products Division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer opportunity for the paper department at the Wauna Mill located in Clatskanie, Oregon. This position will report to the Product & Process Improvement Leader and will work on the exciting capital rebuild project within the mill.

In this role you will enjoy utilizing your engineering expertise to deliver new installations from concept through completion.

You will also solve problems to improve the safety, reliability, automation, and functionality of existing machine control systems. This position is an excellent opportunity to challenge your technical, organizational, and leadership skills while creating long term value for our operations partners.

Our Wauna Mill is located on the Columbia River and is centrally located near the beach and mountains with several forms of outdoor recreational activities. The Wauna Mill is within an hour drive to Portland, OR offering regional attractions and forms of entertainment. What You Will Do

* Drive a culture of safety and environmental excellence through critical hazard identification, risk reduction, and risk mitigation.
* Manage and execute Georgia-Pacific's reliability and asset strategies
* Lead the continuous efforts to identify, investigate, recommend, and implement equipment improvements, new systems, and process changes to improve productivity, yield, quality, and reduce costs
* Driving improvement to operating metrics in all equipment of the work system
* Collaborate with the operations team to build systems to improve productivity, quality, and reliability.
* Exemplify and advance Principle Based Management

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* 3 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
* 2 years or more experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and/or reliability strategies
* Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)

What Will Put You Ahead

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering WITH 3 or more years of manufacturing experience
* 5 or more years of manufacturing experience within a paper or pulp manufacturing operation
* Experience as a supervisor with responsibility for direct reports
