APS is looking for full time ABET Accredited Engineering studentswho can help guide our business forward!Students whoare interested in experiencing, practicing and learning business, engineering, information systems and fundamentals in real work settings. The Palo Verde Summer internship is a paid 10 week program. During the 10 weeks at Palo Verde you will be equipped with the tools needed to thrive and be challenged with meaningful individual and group projects. You will get support from leaders who will help you succeed. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in a New Hire Orientation, Professional Development opportunities and company tours to learn more about Palo Verde and Arizona Public Service. The Palo Verde Internship is a paid 10 week program starting in May, ending in July. Minimum Requirements
Actively enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university undergraduate program in an Civil engineering discipline or related applied science discipline. Approved Engineer degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural. (A four-year bachelor of Engineering Technology degree is not considered an automatic equivalent for a B.S. degree in Engineering. A review of the degree program curriculum must be completed by Engineering department management.) Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training. Major Accountabilities
1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies Nuclear requirement
Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
