Summary

Palo Verde offers opportunities to participate in training and development for service members that are approaching their transition into the civilian workforce. Palo Verde will provide integration into the organization and provide valuable on-the-job training. You will be an essential part of supporting Arizona's growth and help bring reliable energy to customers across the state.

Minimum Requirements

Must be an active Service Member of the Armed Forces that is within six (6) months of separation.

Must have applied to the SkillBridge program through the Department of Defense with an approval from both the Department of Defense and the Service Member's Chain of Command.

This position does not include compensation or benefits paid by APS.

The Service member will continue to receive benefits from the Department of Defense.

Major Accountabilities

1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, and studies.

2) Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews.

3) Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.

4) Utilizes internal resources to learn business/operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.

5) Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.

6) Performs other related duties as required.

Plant/FieldRole:

This position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site, due to the nature of work.

Location-Based Role:

This position requires employees to work at the (Location), with some flexibility. Flexibility will be determined with the hires employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's.

FlexRole:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:



  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.



*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.

Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours. Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
