Assistant or Associate Professor - Cell and Molecular Biology Requisition ID: 2024-8173 # of Openings: 3 Location: US-UT-Logan Category: Faculty Position Type: Benefited Full-Time Job Classification: Faculty College: College of Science Department: Biology Advertised Salary: Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits Overview The Department of Biology (www.biology.usu.edu) is seeking to fill a cluster of 2-3 tenure track (1.0 FTE, 9 month, 50% research, 40% teaching, 10% service) positions in the area of Cell and Molecular biology to start in the Fall of 2025. This includes biologists whose research addresses questions in neuroscience, development (including evo-devo), systems biology, or functional genomics. The department seeks colleagues with a collaborative vision that are motivated to join a community dedicated to high quality research and teaching that emphasizes acceptance and respect of all persons. The estimated start date will be August 1, 2025. Responsibilities Teaching load is typically one introductory undergraduate course and one upper-level or graduate course in an area of specialization per year. While appointments are expected to be made at the Assistant Professor level, candidates recently promoted or anticipating promotion prior to the anticipated starting date of this position may be considered at the Associate Professor level. Successful candidates are expected to establish nationally recognized research programs addressing fundamental questions in biology and to be effective teachers and mentors to undergraduate and graduate students.
