JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State's Office of Physical Plant is seeking to fill a Design and Construction Project Manager position who will be responsible for the leadership, development, management, and coordination of multiple design and construction projects - from inception through closeout - relating to repairs, alterations, and renovations at the University Park campus. This position will work with both internal and external design and construction resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the University's quality and safety standards.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • establishing and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets

  • providing updates and reports to customers and leadership

  • hiring design professionals and procuring construction services

  • leading project teams so that projects meet the requirements of the contract documents, the University's design and construction standards, and customer needs and expectations

  • serve as the customer advocate and the point-of-contact for the University for each project

Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills are required for regular stakeholder communication. This position will report to a senior Project Manager, together serving a group of university customers. This team will work largely independently from each other, with this team member typically leading less-complex projects with smaller budgets.

Education and experience:

Minimally requires a bachelor's degree or higher and one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in Architecture, Architectural or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline is preferred.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
